How to choose
Choose pit type when site movement is tight and trucks need to approach from more than two directions. The platform remains level with the surrounding yard, so it is useful for factories where turning radius, yard planning, and traffic flow are more important than above-ground maintenance access.
How a pit-type weighbridge works
The weighing platform is built inside a civil pit so its top plate sits flush with the surrounding yard. Only the deck is visible; the load cells and structure sit in the pit below. Vehicles drive straight across from any direction, and the load cells feed weight to the indicator exactly as in a pitless system.
Site and installation requirements
Pit-type suits tight yards where a long approach run is not available. The pit needs proper waterproofing and drainage so load cells stay dry, and a clear service route keeps maintenance practical.
